VGChartz.com, the most comprehensive videogaming charts in the world, has announced that lifetime sales of 3 Nintendo DS franchises have crossed major sales marks according to their estimates, namely Nintendogs , New Super Mario Bros. and Brain Training: How old is your brain?
Nintendogs , released in 2005, has seen steady sales for more than 3 years now, constantly charting in VGChartz.com´s weekly top sellers list and recently exceeded the 10 million sales mark mostly in Europe (*), becoming the best selling title ever released in Europe after more than 140 weeks on the market.

Nintendogs is now the best selling game of all times in Europe, even exceeding sales of Pokémon Red and Blue from 1999. Worldwide sales of the game are just shy of 19 million units and VGChartz.com expects the game to cross the 20 million units mark in 2008.

The second game worth of mention is New Super Mario Bros. The game, first released in 2006, crossed the 15 million units sales mark as of June 11th , becoming the first Super Mario game since Super Mario World to exceed this number. The game continues to show great legs and is likely to hit the 20 million mark once this generation is over.

Last but not least, likely the most surprising story of this generation of handhelds: Brain Training: How old is your brain? and its sequel More Brain Training , two games based on the theories of neuroscientist Ryuta Kawashima, saw huge success as well. Combined sales of both games have exceeded the 25 million mark just weeks ago, making the franchise the biggest hitter on Nintendos Dual Screen.
What all three titles have in common is their steady selling pace and their appearance in our charts for more than two years now.
Hardware sales for the Nintendo DS system itself crossed the 75 million mark recently, making the DS the fastest selling handheld ever created.
