NewsBioware: The entire Mass Effect trilogy will be on the Xbox 360By starcraft 22nd Jul 2008
The September issue of one of Australia's primary Xbox magazines Australian 360 has some juicy information about the critically acclaimed and commercially successful RPG series Mass Effect. Speaking to Australian 360 at EA's European showcase, Bioware's head Ray Muzyka confirmed that the studio is still planning to bring "the Mass Effect trilogy exclusively to the Xbox 360." Though it is assumed that this will include a PC release for the remainder of the series in the same vein as the first title, the most interesting thing to note is Bioware's intention to release all three games on the current iteration of the Xbox. This is excellent news for Xbox 360 owners who had feared that the third title may release on Microsoft's next platform, necessitating an expensive upgrade. Also worth mentioning is Muzyka's assertion that the trilogy will remain story-based and heavily intertwined, whilst still failing to confirm that characters or story models from the first title will be transferable to the second. Pending any unexpected delays, Mass Effect 2 is currently expected in 2009. Editor's Note: The original source has since retracted the exclusivity statement. |
