Now Killzone 2 is released, the top spot is held by a Wii title for the first time. MadWorld's close release hype catapults the title to the first place. Even Final Fantasy XIII, which was beaten by Killzone 2 last month, couldn't beat it. We have yet to see what this will do for its sales, but last month's number 1, Killzone 2, is already off to a good start at retail. It's important to note that a lot of members that don't have the Wii as their main console list MadWorld among their most anticipated titles, so it looks like Wii has finally found a title that can compete with the HD core games among multiplatform owners.

MadWorld is the first Wii game ever to top the VGC Most Wanted.

It's also the first time more Wii exclusive titles than PS3 games make the list.

Gran Turismo 5 makes a very big jump, it's likely that a lot of Killzone 2 votes are now going to Gran Turismo 5.

Despite being very close to release Resident Evil 5 doesn't make the top 5, negative reactions to the demo could be a reason for that.

Wii seems to be transforming slowly into the place for more niche Japanese titles as Arc Rise Fantasia, Muramasa: Demon Blade, Monster Hunter 3, Tales of "Ten" and Little King's Story all make the Top 20.

With the two Final Fantasy XIII titles and Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope that makes 8 highly anticipated J-games. Not bad for a "dying" genre.

Mass Effect 2 is listed as 360 exclusive because the first one was as well. Please note that there's no official confirmation of this being true.
