NewsBy Benjamin Schlichter - BSchlichter@VGChartz.com This month, we finally see a new game take the top spot away from Castle Crashers. Despite the game being maligned for the ruleset, Magic: The Gathering manages to sell a strong number of units in it's debut month, with 2 weeks of data used in these numbers. Other new games litter the charts when aligned for revenue. Sam & Max had a decent debut at 6,240 units/$124,800 revenue. However, don't expect this to last long due to the heavy price point. Cellfactor, Wolfenstien, Garou, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 also debuted in the top 20 when aligned for revenue. Other Sega hits did well outside the top 20 with Gunstar Heroes at #22, and just over 10,000 units for the month. In total, the Sega Classics, which have seen multiple releases over the past decade saw combined sales of 42,606 units. Phantasy Star II was the worst selling at 3,200 units. This is rather decent for the titles, as Sega recently released other retail collections, which has flooded the market with these classic titles. In the coming month, expect major increases in sales, as Worms 2: Armageddon launched on July 1st, which put it past the availability of this chart. As of today, the 3rd, it has sold over 10,000 units and looks to be #1 next month. Overall sales for the month were up slightly, by 3% versus the month prior. It would seem that sales are rather mundane, until new significant games come out over the next 2 months. Despite this, games such as Castle Crashers and SF2HDT are doing rather well at their price range(s). And in final news, Castle Crashers passed the $10,000,000 revenue mark. It's the first game to breach the mark, and major kudos to the game for doing such.
