NewsLittleBigPlanet Teams with the White House to Help EducationBy Nicolas Ravasi 24th Nov 2009
Obama launched a campaign called Educate to Innovate, which aims to encourage middle and high school students into science, technology, engineering and math. That alone wouldn't be surprising, and it'd be hardly worth the news of a gaming site, but what's more of interest is that Sony, with LittleBigPlanet, will be among those who sponsor and help that campaign For the campaign, Sony is expected to donate a thousand PS3s and LittleBigPlanet copies, which will be destined to libraries and community organization in low-income areas. With them, children will be encouraged to create levels in LittleBigPlanet that somehow use science and math. There will also be a prize of $300.000 to be awarded to game designers who create games that incorporate those two subjects as well, the games they create will then be distributed for free
